Description
A silver-plated spoon warmer modeled in the form of a nautilus shell. The highly polished, spiraling vessel rests upon an intricately cast marine-form base, contrasting its smooth reflective surface with richly modeled detail.
Originally designed to hold hot water and keep serving spoons warm at the table, the piece is distinguished by its unusual sculptural form and decorative presence.
Vintage condition with patina and wear consistent with age and use.
